Works Of The British Province
We are men who have been called by Jesus to be friends in the Lord, contemplatives in action who are sent on mission to go where the need is greatest in the cultural context of Britain today.

Jesuits in Britain today are working in:
- Schools – in particular fostering the faith lives of pupils, staff, and parents, and nurturing the Jesuit charism of the school
- Parishes – largely in city locations where the social needs are acute and the outreach of the parish to the local community can be developed
- Spirituality Centres – making available in different ways the spiritual exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola
- Colleges of Higher Education – offering opportunities for the study of philosophy and theology
- Adult faith formation – through weekly evening classes and residential and non-residential summer schools
- Social ministries – reaching out to asylum seekers and refugees
- Inter-faith relations - building mutual understanding with other faith communities
- The media, supporting prayer and the intelligence of the Faith through the internet
- Volunteering organisations, helping people to serve others both at home and abroad
- Support of overseas Missions
In all of the above there is an emphasis on work with young people and young adults, in collaboration with the local Church while seeking others who will engage with us in this urgent mission for the greater glory of God.
The album of photos will give you a flavour of some of the work that we are engaged in the Province today.
