Pilgrims at the World Youth Day, Sydney, 2008

An international event for young people seeking an experience of spirituality, service and community running into the World Youth Days.

Magis is an Ignatian programme which brings together young people from all over the world who have had some association with the Jesuits, other Ignatian Congregations or other movements with an ignatian spirit. Former students from Jesuit schools and colleges would find themselves very much at home in this kind of gathering.

The Programme for August 2011

There are three stages to the 2011 event:

5-7 August: International gathering at Loyola, Northern Spain, the birth place of St. Ignatius

8-14 August: Experiences in cities in Spain and Portugal in service programmes, creative arts projects, or on pilgrimage.

15 August: A gathering to share the fruit of the experiences in Madrid

16-21 August: the World Youth Days withe Pope Benedict XVI
